This house dates from perhaps 1910 - 1920 and takes its style from Malay village house design; a simple single storey building elevated on brick pillars. From the size and location of this house, it's likely that someone of rank or wealth once lived here.

By the looks of it the house has survived largely in its period form. The only major modern work I can spot here is with the roof which has obviously been renovated in recent years and sports cogitated asbestos sheets. I would imagine the original roof would have had simple Chinese style "U" shaped clay tiles.
