Police station | 1930's

From an old wall calender inside this old police station the probable abandonment of this site was in 1998.

The style of the building looks to be pre war with its long frontage and hipped roof design. The only thing that doesn't appear to fit with the original building is the arched main entrance porch, perhaps a post war 50's - 60's addition?

The building is laid out with living quarters and office space to the front of the building, toilets, bathrooms and small kitchen areas are to the rear.
The main reception area has a large holding cell and probably a small interrogation room next to this, which was unfortunately locked.
A large open parade ground fronts the property.

The building sits at the main cross roads and so is and was in a strategic position. Even today the modern police station and barracks hasn't moved far, just up on a small hill behind this old station.

Stories during the Malayan Emergency in the 60's tell of running gun battles behind this old building which resulted in the deaths of a few communists terrorists.

Lottery pundits love places like this as is evident in the amount of 4 digit numbers scrawled on the walls. In this part of the world certain lottery players don't rely on silly number methods or systems to pick their winning digits, they rely on the paranormal! By writing numbers on the walls and burning incense and offerings, players hope to illicit the help from lost souls from the other side in giving them the winning numbers! Strange but true.
