Government
quarters JB | 1930's
This location consists of a cluster of three prewar quarters
located near the town centre. It was an interesting explore
cut short upon the discovery of a vagrant in one of the old
servants quarters. He had barricaded a doorway and I only
caught sight of his existence when I spied his prone torso
curled up on some old newspapers through a chink in his makeshift
defences. In situations like this safety always comes first
and I backed out of the building fast.
These buildings were all raised up on concrete pillars, elevating
the building above the ground. This is done in this instance
to provide under floor ventilation as well as to level out
the building on the sloping land it was buillt ion.
