From a British
1944 report I was able to obtain map coordinates for some of the locations
of Japanese buildings and facilities at Pengerang. The general Pengerang
area was reported as to have been a hot bed for Japanese activity. It
was thought much of the original British military facilities at Pengerang
were simply re used by the Japanese, including the 6" gun emplacements.
The
1944 British report also noted a new operations bunker on the west side
of Bukit Pengerang.
The
report surmised that “bombs of considerable weight” would
be needed for its reduction.
